Oko Polytechnic SUG Moves to End HND Result Delays as Power Issues Stall Printing Unit

In a decisive move to address the prolonged delay in releasing Higher National Diploma (HND) results, the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Federal Polytechnic Oko has stepped in, holding a crucial meeting earlier today with the Acting Head of Department for Result Printing and Control (HND Session), Dr. Mrs. Theresa Ifeoma Nwankwo.

The meeting, spearheaded by H.E. Giant Comr. Anuluonye Ifechukwu Joseph, SUG President, brought together top union executives including H.E. Comr. Barr. Nweke Kosarachi M. (Vice President), Comr. Barr. Nwokpuru Eugene Chekwubechi (Public Relations Officer), Rt. Hon. Uzoagbala Chibuike Kenechukwu (Speaker), and Comr. Emmanuel Joseph C. (P.A. to the SUG President on Social Matters).

During the meeting, the SUG leadership sought to uncover the root causes behind the persistent delay in result processing, which has affected several alumni awaiting their transcripts for career and international opportunities.

Dr. Nwankwo, who warmly welcomed the student leaders, expressed her appreciation for their proactive concern and clarified that a major power supply challenge has been the primary obstacle preventing her unit from completing result compilation and printing. She noted that the issue has already been reported to the institution’s management for urgent attention.

Acknowledging the frustration among graduates, Dr. Nwankwo assured that her team remains committed and active but has been constrained by the unstable electricity situation. She further encouraged any affected alumni with urgent travel or employment needs to personally visit her office for individual case reviews.

Responding, the SUG President commended Dr. Nwankwo for her transparency and dedication, urging her to fast-track the release of pending results once the power issue is resolved. He also vowed to communicate the matter directly to the Rector to ensure quick intervention.

In his closing statement, Comr. Nwokpuru Eugene Chekwubechi, the SUG Public Relations Officer, reaffirmed the union’s commitment to safeguarding the academic interests of Oko Polytechnic students and graduates.

The SUG leadership emphasized that it will continue to engage with relevant authorities until the result backlog is cleared and normal operations resume in the Result Printing and Control Unit.
