Ogun workers, Teachers Declares Indefinite strike

The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Ogun state chapter has declared an indefinite strike to pressure their demands from the Ogun government under the leadership of Dr Dapo Abiodun.
Mr Akinola Abiodun, NUT Chairman Ogun state in a press statement said that the union decision to go on strike is neither a target at any individual nor to wage war against the constituted authority but just to legitimately seek for workers rights as contained in the extant Labour laws.
He noted that the Industrial Action will take effect from 12:00am on Tuesday 28th June 2022 till further notice.
The statement reads,
“Arising from the State Congress of the Organised Labour in Ogun State held at the Arcade Ground, State Secretariat, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta today 27th June, 2022 where a joint decision was taken by the State Workforce to go on an indefinite strike to press home the Organised Labour’s demands from the State Government.

“As a reputable affiliate of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and in line with the decision taken by the entire workforce in Ogun State, all Teachers are hereby directed to withdraw their services starting from 12:00a.m on the 28th June, 2022 until further directive from the Organised Labour in the State.”
