O’Level Certificates

  • Candidates must have at least five credits in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in their WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB results.
  • The results should not be from more than two sittings.

Direct Entry (DE) Requirements

  • Candidates with an ND, NCE, or equivalent qualification may apply for admission into 200-level programs.
  • Some programs may require additional qualifications, depending on the course of study.

Age Requirement

  • NOUN does not have strict age restrictions, making it possible for older candidates and working professionals to apply.

JAMB is Not Required

  • Unlike conventional universities, NOUN does not require candidates to take the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam.

Admission Process

Visit the NOUN Admission Portal

DOES NOUN REQUIRE JAMB?

Noun doesn’t require jamb. A good SSCE result will grant you admission into the institution.

DOES THE SCHOOL HAS A HOSTEL?

Noun is a distant learning institution. There is no hostel. You are only required to go to school during exams.

WHERE DO I ATTEND LECTURES?

Again, Noun is a distant learning institution. Course materials are provided and the students are expected to learn on their own. However there are private lecture centres instituted to aid Noun students. You can find anyone closest to your location and join them. These lecture centers are not of the school and it is not mandatory that you attend.

DO NOUN UNIVERSITY GRADUATES GO FOR NYSC? 

No! but during the administration of President Tinubu, the president has directed the Fed. Min of Education to formulate necessary modalities for the inclusion of National Open University (NOUN) graduates within the National Youth Service (NYSC) framework, particularly those within the service age bracket, as allowed by the law. So, it is possible they might be mobilized in future if implementation begins.
