Nice Naira Loan App Review: Is It Legit or a Risky Choice?
When you’re in urgent need of funds, loan apps like Nice Naira (also called NiceNaira Plus) often come up as quick solutions. But before you install the app and submit your details, it’s important to know how it works, what users are saying, and whether it’s safe.
What is Nice Naira Loan App?
Nice Naira is a Nigerian mobile lending app designed to provide instant personal loans. It is available on Google Play Store for Android users, but currently, there’s no iOS version for iPhone owners.
To get started, all you need to do is:
- Download and install the app
- Register with your phone number
- Fill in basic personal and financial details
- Apply for a loan
The process is completely digital, and approved loans are sent directly to your bank account.
Who Owns Nice Naira Loan App?
The app is owned by Coreinnovate Digital Solutions Limited, a tech company based in Lagos. It is also linked with Giasun Technology Nigeria Limited, which appears on the FCCPC’s list of approved loan apps in Nigeria. This means the app has regulatory clearance to operate.
Loan Terms and Conditions
According to Nice Naira, users can borrow up to ₦200,000, with repayment periods ranging from 91 to 360 days (3–12 months). The app charges:
- Interest rate: About 0.5% per month on the principal
- Service fee: Flat 6% to 24% of the loan amount
- Annual Percentage Rate (APR): Between 12% and 30%
For example, if you borrow ₦20,000 for 3 months, with 0.5% interest and 6% service fee, you’ll repay ₦21,500.
However, many users claim that the actual repayment period is much shorter (between 7 and 30 days), despite the app advertising longer durations.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for a Nice Naira loan, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a Nigerian citizen
- Have a valid BVN and NIN
- Own an active bank account
- Provide ATM card details during registration
No physical paperwork is required, and the entire application is processed within the app.
User Ratings and Reviews
On Google Play Store, Nice Naira has an average rating of 1.9 out of 5 stars, with the majority of reviews being negative.
- Positive feedback: Some users report that loan disbursement is very fast, sometimes within seconds.
- Negative feedback: Many complain about high fees, misleading repayment terms, and aggressive debt collection practices. Some borrowers even reported that their contacts were messaged or threatened over missed payments.
This has led to the app being tagged as a “dangerous loan app” by several reviewers.
Pros of Nice Naira Loan App
- Fast disbursement for approved loans
- Offers loans up to ₦200,000
- Fully digital application process
- Listed as an approved app under FCCPC
Cons of Nice Naira Loan App
- Extremely low user rating (1.9★ out of 5)
- High interest rates and service fees
- Hidden repayment terms despite advertised claims
- Aggressive loan recovery methods
- Not available for iPhone users
Is Nice Naira Loan App Legit or Scam?
Nice Naira is a legally registered loan app, but its practices raise concerns. While it does give loans, the high fees, poor transparency, and harassment reports make it risky. If you must use it, borrow only small amounts you can repay quickly to avoid trouble.
Safer Alternatives to Nice Naira Loan App
If you’re looking for more reliable lending platforms with better ratings, you can consider alternatives like:
- FairMoney – Loans with longer repayment periods and bill payment features
- Branch – Low interest rates and no hidden charges
- OKash – Backed by Opay with flexible borrowing options
- EaseMoni – Transparent and widely trusted in Nigeria
Nice Naira loan app does what it promises—provides quick cash—but the downsides are serious. The high interest, hidden conditions, and aggressive recovery methods make it a risky choice for borrowers. If you need a loan, carefully compare apps, read the fine print, and only borrow from lenders with good ratings and transparent policies. When in doubt, it’s better to go for alternatives that are more user-friendly and less likely to harass you.
