NBTE and Partners Launch Landmark Workshop to Overhaul Renewable Energy Curriculum

In a bold move to future-proof Nigeria’s technical education system and meet the rising global demand for clean energy, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has kicked off a high-impact five-day workshop in collaboration with the ASCL/Include Knowledge Platform.
The workshop, which runs from Monday, April 7 to Friday, April 11 in Abuja, is aimed at reviewing the National Diploma (ND) curriculum in Renewable Energy and conducting a pre-critique of the Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in Solar PV and Solar Thermal technologies.
This initiative marks a significant step in NBTE’s mission to integrate sustainability and global energy trends into technical education. The session is drawing participation from leading academics, industry stakeholders, and development partners, all committed to equipping Nigerian students with the skills needed for a greener future.
“This review is not just about curriculum updates — it’s about preparing our youth for the jobs of tomorrow and contributing to global climate solutions,” said a representative from NBTE.
The workshop underscores the government’s growing commitment to green energy, and its role in driving economic transformation through skill-based education.
