NAPS KICKS AGAINST AMOTEKUN BRUTALITY, CALLS FOR OFFICERS RE- ORIENTATION AND REHABILITATION.
The National Association of Polytechnic students has condemned in totality, the Continous brutality against the masses, youths and students precisely by the men of the Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed Operation Amotekun.
This was made known to the pressmen earlier today in Ibadan, during a press briefing by the National President of NAPS, Comrade Olalere Benedict Adetunji following the recent brutality and unlawful arrest of some youths and students leaders in Òyó state by the men of Operation Amotekun.
“We cannot continue to fold our arms, watching the state governor too, condoning the fervent brutality and oppression against our leaders seeking for justice in security imbalances within the state. Injustices to any of them is an Injustice to all of us remaining ” – The NAPS PRESIDENT said.
Comrade Olalere Benedict in his speech furthered that “With a matter of immediate alacrity, we call on the His Excellency Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde to issue an fierce executive order against the uncouth and unorganized operation of the men of Amotekun.
Also, to direct the management of the force to rehabilitate it’s officers, give more intensive training and re -orientation to these armed Operatives. There must be end to their brutality within Òyó state and Southwest Nigeria beyond.
He concluded in his statement by issuing a 14- days ultimatum to Òyó state Government to rehabilitate, re- orientate and restructure the force in its entirety to avoid greater consequences ahead.
