Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru started as Zungeru College of Advanced Studies (ZUCAS), Zungeru. The State Government established ZUCAS by the Niger State Edict No. 7 of 1979 although, it actually began functioning on 10th January, 1977 at the Temporary Site at Government College, Bida. In September, 1984, the institution moved to its permanent site located midway between Zungeru and Wushishi Towns.

The Polytechnic attaches great importance to the observance of good conduct by the students and staff. Good conduct invariably makes for peace and progress. An atmosphere of peace and security normally makes for meaningful teaching and learning.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR NIGER STATE POLYTECHNIC.

The minimum entry requirements for Higher National Diploma (HND) Programmes are:

i. National Diploma (ND) in relevant field with a minimum of lower credit grade obtained from a recognized institution, plus five (5) relevant credits which must include English Language and Mathematics at WAEC/SSCE, NECO, GCE, NABTEB or Teachers Grade Two Certificate.

ii. A minimum of one (1) year post National Diploma (ND) cognate working experience (Industrial Training)

NATIONAL DIPLOMA REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess at least five credits and sat for UTME and obtain a minimum score for admission.

SCHOOL FEES

School Fees in Niger poly are cheap as Indigenous students pays #44,000 per session and Non Indigene pays #59,000 per session for HND. ND indigene students #40,000 per session while non indigene students pay #55,000 per session. The school fees are usually splitted in installments as students pay 60% in the first semester and 40% in the second semester.

The school fees for the polytechnic is not specific as it varies every academic session. Perhaps if you wish to study in Niger poly budget 65k for school fees if you are not indigene. Other fees paid by students are SUG which is #1,000 and accommodation per session which costs #5,000 only. Kindly note that these fees here don’t cover faculty, departmental and other miscellaneous dues you will pay apart from the school fees.
