Jigawa State polytechnic was established in the year 2007, the name of the Rector is, Dr. Aliyu Abdu Ibrahim. The polytechnic runs two programmes; Morning and Afternoon programme.

The morning programme is the same as Full-time while the afternoon programme is like Part time and evening programme. Jigawa State polytechnic also runs some health related courses. The polytechnic is one of the fastest polytechnics in Nigeria and also one of best in the country at large.

The polytechnic is majorly dominated by the Hausas/Fulani students and also people from southern Nigeria schooled in Jigawa State polytechnic

All the courses and programmes at Jigawa State polytechnic have been fully accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), which means your certificate will be recognized and you will be enrolled for NYSC after your graduation.
