Jigawa State Polytechnic Management Receives Deputy Inspector-General of Police on Security Assessment Visit

The Management of Jigawa State Polytechnic, Dutse, led by the Rector, Dr. Suleiman Ahmed Badayi, on Thursday, June 18, 2026, welcomed a high-level delegation headed by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Sulaiman M. Abdul, psc, PhD, FCNA, FCCSA (USA), ACTI, mni.
During the visit, DIG Abdul stated that the purpose of the engagement was to assess the security situation within the institution and discuss measures to address potential challenges facing the Polytechnic. He noted the increasing security concerns affecting educational institutions across the country and emphasized the importance of proactive collaboration between security agencies and school authorities.
The Deputy Inspector-General also described Jigawa State Polytechnic as a place that holds special significance for him, recalling his time as a lecturer at the institution before joining the Nigeria Police Force. He fondly remembered several former colleagues, including Mallam Jamal Ali Ahmed, while reflecting on his academic career at the Polytechnic.
Responding on behalf of the institution’s management, the Rector, Dr. Suleiman Ahmed Badayi, expressed appreciation to the DIG and his delegation for the visit. He highlighted some of the key security challenges confronting the Polytechnic and underscored the institution’s commitment to ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for students and staff.
Dr. Badayi further acknowledged the efforts of the Jigawa State Government in supporting the institution’s security initiatives and helping to address some of the challenges faced by the Polytechnic.
The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to strengthen cooperation and explore strategies aimed at enhancing security within the institution and its surrounding community.
