Insecurity:- NAPS Leadership Announces Massive Protest
The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) under the leadership of the global President, Comrade Kingsley Asiegbu has announced a massive protest over insecurity, Police brutality and harassment of students by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commison (EFCC) in Anambra state and the country at large.
In a Press statement obtained by POLYTV, Comrade Kingsley said,
“The rate of Brutality upon students by security agencies whose primary job is to protect the rights of citizens has given the National Association of polytechnic students a concern.
The Anti-cult, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) now sees academic environment as a den of crime where they come and arrest students denying them of their free from Fair Hearing (even without any evidence of crime)
The killings experienced in most academic environments has brought to an end one of most valuable activity of students (Night Class) where students sacrifice their night sleep and comes together to read and share understanding. No one gives attention to that again as the insecurity issues in the country is increasing on daily basis.”
Comrade Kingsley added that, “The National Association of Polytechnic students has taken it upon themselves to embark on a massive Protest against the rate of insecurity in Anambra State as students can no longer sleep with their two eyes closed as each night comes with a sad story of either killing, Arm robbery or EFCC/Anti Cult arrest of Innocent students and all the rest of the abnormalities happening in Anambra State.”
The Association call on Nigerian students and well meaningful people to join its peaceful walk against police brutality.
