EKSPOLY Promotes Fitness and Tourism at Ikogosi Marathon

The students of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan-Ekiti have once again demonstrated their commitment to promoting fitness, unity, and tourism as the institution actively participated in the just concluded 17.5km Marathon Race held in Ikogosi-Ekiti.
The marathon, which attracted hundreds of participants from various institutions and communities across the state and beyond, served as a platform to promote healthy living and showcase the rich cultural and natural heritage of Ekiti State, particularly the globally celebrated Ikogosi Warm and Cold Springs.
Representatives of Ekiti State Polytechnic turned out in their numbers, displaying resilience, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship throughout the race. Their participation, according to observers, reflected the institution’s growing reputation for encouraging not only academic excellence but also physical wellness and community engagement.
Speaking after the event, some of the Polytechnic’s participants described the marathon as “a memorable experience” that strengthened the bond among students and projected the image of the institution positively.
The participation of Ekiti State Polytechnic in such state-wide sporting activity aligns with the institution’s vision under the leadership of Dr. Sunday Osinkolu Ajeigbe, the Rector, to promote holistic education that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit.
Indeed, through this event, Ekiti State Polytechnic has shown that education goes beyond the classroom—extending to community service, tourism promotion, and the pursuit of a healthier society.
