Candidates seeking admission into the Polytechnic must obtain a Minimum Cut-off Mark (MCM) of one hundred and twenty (120) in the last UTME. In addition, the minimum entry requirements into the National Diploma programmes are Senior School Certificate Examination [WAEC/GCE/NECO & NABTEB (NTC)] with at least five (5) Credits obtained at not more than two (2) sittings, which must include English Language, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects.  

Note: For candidates using two (2) sittings, the following are the SSCE results combinations.

  • NABTEB => NABTEB    
  • NECO => WAEC 
  • WAEC => WAEC 
  • NECO => NECO  

Will I Write POST UTME to Be Considered For Admission?

What the Polytechnic does is screening of credentials, which means, candidate who score at least 120 in their UTME and have credits in 5 subjects including English Language and Mathematics, will be offered admission.To make your admission process fast, make sure you already pick Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan-Ekiti as your first choice because the Polytechnic rarely offers admission to candidates that choose her as their second choice.Candidate with A’s and B’s at one sitting have a high chance of being offered admission. The general requirement for the admission is 120 in UTME and five credits at O’ level at not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE and NABTEB

The Programmes and Subjects combination are as contained in the Table below:

  4. Plus any other two (2) of the following: Geography, Government/Civic Education, Agric. Science/ Animal Husbandry/Biology/Chemistry/Physics, Data Processing/ICT/Computer, Insurance. 
  • English Language; 
  • Mathematics;
  • Economics; and
  • Any One (1) from 
Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts. 
2. Agricultural Technology 
  1. English; 
  2. Mathematics; 
  3. Chemistry; 
  4. Any one (1) of the following: 
Biology/Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry /Fisheries. 
  1. Plus any one (1) of the following: Economics, Geography, Statistics, Physics, Civic Education/Government, Computer/ICT/Data Processing. 
  • English Language;
  • Chemistry;
  • Any Two (2) from Agricultural Science, Physics, Economics, Geography, Biology.
 
NABTEB – National Technical Certificate/General Education in the relevant courses is also acceptable. NOTE: Only NABTEB (National Technical Certificate) would be accepted for admission and not NABTEB (National Business Certificate) 
3. Computer Science  
  1. English; 
  2. Mathematics; 
  3. Physics; 
  4. Plus any two (2) of the following: 
Chemistry, Agricultural Science/Biology/Animal Husbandry/Food & Nutrition, Statistics, Economics /Commerce, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, Geography, ICT/Computer Studies/Data Processing, Fine Arts. 
  • English Language;
  • Mathematics; 
  • Physics; 
  • Any One (1) from Chemistry/Biology. 
 
4. Electrical/ ElectronicEngineering Technology 
  1. English; 
  2. Mathematics; 
  3. Physics; 
  4. Chemistry; 
  5. Plus any one (1) of the following: 
Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Electrical Installation & Maintenance Works, Radio/Television & Electrical Works, Instrument Mechanics, Appliances Maintenance and Repairs, Basic Electronics/Electricity. 
  • English Language;
  • Mathematics; 
  • Physics; 
  • Chemistry. 
 
Students are advised to input correct information during the registration process, and it is not expected from students to abbreviate or omit their names and data. A single mistake can cause disqualification since the school only screen credentials for admission process. Students should ensure that their names, date of birth, registration number and other information are entered correctly.
