The CSIR–Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad, a premier institute under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, has announced new openings for talented candidates in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Bioinformatics, and Life Sciences.
These opportunities are on a temporary and contractual basis and offer a chance to work on cutting-edge research projects in wildlife biology, genomics, conservation genetics, and bioinformatics. Candidates with the right qualifications and research skills are encouraged to apply before the deadline.
Available Positions
1. Project Assistant – II
- Total Vacancies: 02
- Age Limit: 35 years
- Salary: ₹20,000 + HRA
Position Details:
- Post Code 011025A: 01 Position – Wildlife Science, Zoology, Botany, or related fields
- Project Title: Wild buffalo population conservation genetics using single nucleotide genotyping
- Qualification: B.Sc. in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Agriculture / Wildlife Science
- Desirable Skills: Experience in field surveys, animal population estimation, use of GPS, forest research in South/Central India.
- Project Duration: Till July 7, 2027
- Principal Investigator: Dr. Karthikeyan Vasudevan
- Post Code 021025A: 01 Position – Wildlife Biology, Botany, Zoology, or related fields
- Project Title: Discerning the Eastern Ghats for improving conservation outcomes
- Qualification: B.Sc. in Life Sciences / Agriculture / Biotechnology / Wildlife Science
- Desirable Skills: Similar to above, including data collection, database management, and field research.
- Project Duration: Till March 31, 2027
- Principal Investigator: Dr. Karthikeyan Vasudevan
2. Principal Project Associate
- Total Vacancies: 01
- Age Limit: 40 years
- Salary: ₹49,000 + HRA
Position Details:
- Post Code 031025A: 01 Position – Genomics, Methylomics, Transcriptomics, Clinical Bioinformatics, Metagenomics, Systems Biology
- Project Title: Diverse Epigenetic Epidemiology Partnership (DEEP) Study
- Qualification: PhD in Medical Biotechnology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Life Sciences / Bioinformatics / Biomedical Engineering with 3 years’ experience
- Desirable Skills:
- Proficiency in high-throughput genome, methylome, and transcriptome data analysis
- Strong command of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data
- Linux, Bash, and command-line proficiency
- Experience in developing pipelines for genomic data
- Ability to analyze population-level genome data with clinical phenotypes
- Project Duration: Till July 31, 2028
- Principal Investigator: Dr. G.R. Chandak
General Terms and Conditions
- Application Mode: Candidates must apply through the official online application link before the deadline.
- Number of Positions: May vary depending on institute requirements.
- Age Relaxation: As per CSIR/Government of India rules.
- Eligibility: Only candidates who have completed the required qualifications are eligible. Awaiting results will not be considered.
- Experience Count: Experience will be considered only after the minimum qualification date.
- Screening: Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email and published on the CCMB website.
- Selection Process: Online or in-person interviews before the Selection Committee.
- Result Declaration: Final list will be posted on the CCMB website. Waitlist panels will remain valid for one year.
- Engagement Tenure: Based on project duration and performance. Does not guarantee permanent employment at CSIR/CCMB.
- Leave Policy: One-day leave per completed month.
- Working Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Additional work may be required.
- No TA/DA: Candidates must bear their own expenses for interviews/joining.
- Tax Deductions: Income tax will be deducted at source as per government norms.
- Confidentiality: All research data and intellectual property will remain with CCMB.
- Termination: Engagement may be terminated by CCMB with one month’s notice.
- Disqualification: Canvassing or misrepresentation of qualifications will result in rejection.
