CreditPRO Finance Secures CBN Licence, Expands SME Loan Solutions Across Nigeria

CreditPRO Finance Company Limited has received official approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), a move that positions the company as one of the rising financial institutions driving SME financing and business loans in the country.
The firm, which began operations in 2019 under a Lagos State lending licence, announced that the CBN accreditation would enable it to expand its nationwide lending operations and strengthen its mission of empowering entrepreneurs with tailored credit solutions.
A Major Milestone in SME Financing
Speaking at the official launch in Lagos, the Chairman of CreditPRO, Dr. Edwin Idegwu, described the licence as a transformative step for the company.
He said:
“This licence has elevated our credibility with investors and institutional partners. It assures them that their funds are managed under strict financial oversight, giving us the trust and backing needed to scale our operations.”
According to him, the decision to establish a full Board of Directors from inception — even when it was not a requirement under the Lagos State licence — gave the company an edge in governance, risk management, and transparency.
From Humble Beginnings to ₦20 Billion Loan Disbursements
The Managing Director, Mr. Sola Adeyiga, reflected on the company’s journey:
“We started from a small underground office in Omole Phase 1 with just ₦3 million in equity and ₦17 million in borrowed funds. Today, we have disbursed over ₦20 billion in business loans to more than 2,500 SMEs, and grown our loan portfolio to ₦1.5 billion.”
He explained that CreditPRO stands out because of its customized lending approach, offering flexible SME loan packages that address the unique challenges of entrepreneurs rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all lending model.
Leveraging AI-Powered Lending Solutions
According to Adeyiga, the company is set to roll out AI-driven digital lending platforms that will make access to business loans faster and more seamless for SMEs across Nigeria.
He added that the licence was the result of a 15-month rigorous approval process and would now serve as the foundation for the company’s expansion across Nigeria and eventually into sub-Saharan Africa.
Driving Financial Inclusion and SME Growth
With the new licence, CreditPRO has reaffirmed its vision to be Nigeria’s most trusted financial partner for small and medium-sized enterprises, bridging the funding gap that has limited the growth of many businesses.
“Our focus is not just on lending but on building a lasting institution that supports SMEs, strengthens investor confidence, and contributes to the overall growth of Nigeria’s financial ecosystem,” Adeyiga said.
The approval of CreditPRO Finance by the CBN signals a fresh wave of opportunities for Nigerian entrepreneurs seeking access to reliable business loans. By combining innovative digital lending platforms, investor partnerships, and a strong governance framework, CreditPRO is set to play a critical role in reshaping SME financing in Nigeria.
For business owners looking for accessible funding and structured repayment plans, institutions like CreditPRO represent the future of SME financing in Africa.
