ATAPOLY SHUTDOWN TILL FURTHER NOTICE

The Management of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAPOLY), Bauchi has shutdown the institution till further notice following an unrest that occurred in the polytechnic on Tuesday.
The polytechnic students early Tuesday protested against the declaration of a two weeks warning strike by the Joint Action Committee. The protest was reported to have caused commotion in the polytechnic community as police fired live shots to disperse the students.
One of the student in a WhatsApp conversation with POLYTV said, “I was injured, live bullets were shot at us too”
Reacting to the incident, The school management directed students to vacate campus premises till further notice.
The circular reads, “The Management notices with dismay the unwanted students’ unrest within and outside the Campus of the Polytechnic today Tuesday 19th July, 2022..
“Management therefore resolved to close the Institution with immediate effect..
“All students are therefore informed to vacate the Campus within two hours from 10:00am to 12:00 noon as the Security Personnel would take over Campus.”
