Afreximbank 2025 Internship Program: Applications Now Open till 30th April

The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has opened applications for its 2025 Internship Program, offering students and recent graduates a valuable opportunity to gain experience in trade, finance, and economic development.
Internship Benefits
- Monthly stipend: $1,000 (tax-free)
- Housing allowance: $500 for interns relocating from another country
- Mentorship and training: Interns will work with industry experts and rotate through different departments.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Be 20–32 years old during the year of application.
- Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or postgraduate program.
- Be studying fields such as economics, finance, accounting, law, engineering, statistics, or social sciences.
- Be fluent in English or French (knowledge of Arabic or Portuguese is a bonus).
- Have a recommendation letter from their academic institution.
The program is open to:
- Students from Afreximbank member states.
- Individuals of African descent in the diaspora.
- Non-African students aligned with the Bank’s mission.
Internship Structure
- Internships are available twice a year: January and June.
- Duration: Up to 6 months.
- Main location: Afreximbank headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
- Other locations: Afreximbank offices in Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast, Uganda, Cameroon, and Barbados.
- Interns will participate in an induction program and will submit a final report at the end of their internship.
Application Process
To apply, candidates must submit via the Afreximbank online portal:
- A letter of application.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Copy of valid passport.
- Certified academic certificates.
- Recommendation letter from their institution.
- One-page Statement of Intent (explaining what they hope to gain).
Deadline: Applications close on April 30, 2025.
Note: Selected candidates must confirm acceptance within two weeks or lose the offer.
