Kano State Polytechnic Matriculates Over 5,000 Students for 2025/2026 Academic Session

Kano State Polytechnic has officially matriculated more than 5,000 students for the 2025/2026 academic session during a colourful ceremony held on May 20, 2026.
The matriculation ceremony brought together members of the Polytechnic management, staff, students, and invited guests to formally admit the newly enrolled students into the institution’s academic community.
The Rector of the Polytechnic, Abubakar Umar Farouk, who was represented by the Director of Academic Planning, Research and Innovation, Engr. Dr. Comrade Ibrahim Usman Aikawa, welcomed the students and encouraged them to embrace the institution’s core values of integrity, discipline, excellence, innovation, and humanity.
In his address, the Rector advised the students to remain focused on their academic goals, manage their time effectively, and participate in extracurricular activities capable of developing leadership skills and creativity.
The matriculation oath was administered by the Registrar of the institution, Mukhtar Ibrahim Bello, popularly known as Falakin Kano, who congratulated the newly admitted students and urged them to be worthy ambassadors of the Polytechnic.
As part of the orientation activities, students were also educated on examination ethics and institutional regulations. A presentation on examination rules and regulations was delivered by the Deputy Registrar, Exams and Records, Fatima Bala Ahmad, represented by the Director of Quality Assurance, Dr. Ahmad Zubairu Chedi.
During the presentation, students were warned against examination malpractice and other forms of misconduct, while also being encouraged to remain disciplined and law-abiding throughout their academic journey.
The Deputy Registrar of Student Affairs, Sadiq Imam Wali, represented by the Student Affairs Officer of the School of Management Studies, Comrade Abdulmajid Bn Tukur, also addressed the students on the institution’s dress code policy.
The students were reminded of the importance of decent dressing and proper conduct, with emphasis on the fact that they represent not only themselves but also their families, communities, and the Polytechnic.
Chairman of the Convention and Matriculation Committee, Malam Sulaiman Hashim Rano, congratulated the matriculating students and wished them a successful academic journey within the institution.
He also appreciated members of the committee and the Polytechnic management for their support and contributions towards the successful organisation of the event.
The matriculation ceremony marked another important milestone for the institution as it continues to expand access to quality technical and vocational education in Kano State.
