We’ve Reached Agreement with ASUP – DSAP MGT
The management of DS ADEGBENRO ICT POLYTECHNIC, has said that, they have meet 80% of the demands of the academic staff union of Polytechnic (ASUP) DSAP chapter.
The management added students will resume to classroom anytime soon.
This was contained in a press statement from the student union government dated Monday 11th May 2022.
The student union government urge students not to travel as management is taking necessary steps to see that the school resumes as soon as possible from the internal strike.
The statement in part reads:
“Emergency meeting held on Tuesday 10th May 2022 where delegate were appointed to meet with the management in solidarity support to the ASUP since it’s request is Jermain.
ASUP STRIKE: FEDPONAM Gives Update on Examination
“Today the SUG President Comrade Gabriel Abiola Francis (Solution) led the delegates to the Rector’s office. We established the reason why the management need to attend to the demand of the ASUP so as to end up the internal strike and others.
“We also note that, Our members (Students) can’t continue to pay for sins we never committed, as we are paying huge amount of money for our education, we strongly believe we deserve the best, and our future should not be playing with all in the name of strike.”
The Rector said, the management have presently meet up 80% of the ASUP demands and assured us that the strike will be call off on or before Tuesday 17th May, 2022 as they have also meet with the ASUP EXCO’s today to finalize and end up the strike.
ASUP President Gives Update On strike Action, Say Government is not Serious With Negotiation
The student union further emphasis that the students are tired of staying at home, the management and the ASUP should reach compromise and get campus reopened on or before the said date.
The student union president appeal that Hnd 1 and Nd1 examination time table should be rescheduled to one examination per day as enjoyed by the Nd2 and HND 2 who just finished their exams last week .
The president added “We want to use this opportunity to advise every students not to go for a long travelling as they might resume on or before the above date as promised by the Rector.”
