‎The Special Adviser to the Governor of Ekiti State on Tertiary Education, Prof. Hakeem Azeez has commended Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, for its innovative approach to curbing examination malpractice.

‎Prof. Azeez who gave the commendation while touring facilities in the College, expressed delight at the Institution Management’s effective utilization of available resources, urging other tertiary institutions to emulate the Ijero College’s recent deployment of CCTV cameras to monitor the conduct of examinations.

‎The Special Adviser who applauded the leadership of the Governing Council Chairman, Dr. Femi Thomas, averred that the College’s progress in recent months is a testament to the passion of Governor Oyebanji for educational development.

‎While noting that his visit to the College was to appraise the institution’s development since the current Governing Council mounted saddle in October 2024, Prof. Azeez expressed delight at the remarkable progress made in less than a year under the current Council Chairman.

‎He expressed hope that the recent acquisition of 118 hectares of land along Aramoko Road and additional hectares behind the land on which the College is seated, would boost the institution’s quest for upgrading to a Polytechnic.

‎He did not mince words in restating Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to seeing the College transmute into a Polytechnic, a development he hinted would become reality soon.

‎Responding, the College Principal Officers expressed gratitude to Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his numerous contributions to the growth and development of the College since he assumed office.

‎They further applauded the State Governor for appointing Dr. Femi Thomas as the Institution’s Governing Council Chairman, describing the latter as a round peg in a round hole, and a great gift to the institution.

‎The Principal Officers comprising the Acting Provost – Mrs. Iyabo Oladapo, the Registrar – Mrs. Caroline Ogunsakin, and  the Bursar – Dr. Funmilayo Alonge appreciated Prof. Azeez for his visit and extended their gratitude to the Governor, expressing hope that the College’ internal road network would get the needed attention soon.

‎The Special Adviser who toured some facilities in the College including the Dr. Arokodare building, the Hon. Wumi Ogunlola Hall, and the Remedial Hall, called on well spirited individuals to emulate the philanthropic gesture of distinguished Ekiti personalities that had contributed immensely to infrastructural development in the College.

‎He was accompanied to the College by Officials of the Ministry of Education including; Morenike Odeyemi – Director, Tertiary Education,  Folukemi Owoyomi – Chief Education Officer, Lateef Jimoh, and others, including; Wasiu Ganiyu – P. A. to the Special Adviser and Olufemi Ayodele – Education Officer, office of the Special Adviser on Tertiary Education.
